All I can say is after the hurricanes we had a few years ago, the insurance prices became staggering. It was near impossible for a while to find a company that would insure a home (if you were seeking a new company or just buying a home) for a long time. I remember trying to get Renter’s Insurance through State Farm and they weren’t writing any home insurance policies in Florida. Period.
Sorry I cannot answer your question better but to say unless things have changed, it’s quite high. I remember friends in the year after the storms telling stories of how their premiums had shot up to ridiculous levels.
You’ll just really need to contact various companies and find out who you can get the best deal with. Perhaps talk to some of your new neighbors. They’d be the ones "in the know" for your area. South Florida gets hit more often than we do up here in the panhandle.
